From the recording Back to Love
"Back to Love", composed by Gord Maxwell & David Pavane, is a song which evokes the spirit of music during the peace movement of the 1960s & 70s; a time when artists expressed ideals of equality, of dignity and respect for all. A time when music opposing division, violence and war served to unify “The People”.
"Back to Love" is a compelling song that asks a lot of questions, not the least of which is, "Have we lost sight of what we believe in?" While the vibe of the song may seem nostalgic, the lyrics speak from a contemporary perspective.
The chorus promotes a powerful message: one of unity. An anthem for our times and one which sums things up succinctly, “It’s time to come together now, and bring the whole world back to love”.
Peacenik Collective is on a quest to spread a message of unity and community through songs that connect and reflect who we are, and what we share as humans.

Lyrics
Are you left, are you right?
Are you coloured, are you white?
Seems to me we’re losing sight of what to believe in
Are you vaxxed, are you woke?
Crazy rich or always broke?
‘Cause I see far too many folks hungry and needing
Oh, you know there ain’t no fix
In all the money and the politics
No one seems to care
That we’re all just running scared
We are all so broken, broken into pieces
So much fear and hatred written on our faces
No matter how we got here, we need to rise above
It’s time to come together now
And bring the whole world back to love
Are you woman, or a man?
Are you enemy, or friend?
We draw lines deep in the sand and don’t even know it
Do you protest, do you pray
That we can find a better way
Where we have love deep in our hearts and finally show it?
‘Cause it takes every kind of people
To make the world go ‘round
Together we move forward
Together we are bound, but right now
We are all so broken, broken into pieces
So much fear and hatred written on our faces
No matter how we got here, we need to rise above
It’s time to come together now
And bring the whole world back to love
Back to love, back to love, back to love….
Can you love and still be proud?
Can you live your life out loud?
There’s no book of life we follow right to the letter
Are you Christian or a Jew?
Are you LGBTQ?
It’s not what we are it’s what we do that makes the world better
We are all so broken, broken into pieces
So much fear and hatred written on our faces
No matter how we got here, we need to rise above
It’s time to come together now
And bring the whole world back to love
Let’s bring the whole world back to love
We’ll bring the whole world back to love
