About Bruce

It’s all about the Song

Bruce Coughlan is a career performer. A songwriter, recording artist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, compere, and storyteller par excellence with over four decades of experience.

This expressive singer & rock-solid guitarist is a musical chameleon, transitioning with ease between Rock, Country, Rhythm & Blues, Celtic, Bluegrass & Americana genres. Bruce has recorded 15 albums, garnered many awards, and has been a featured artist at thousands of theatre, festival, community, and corporate concert events throughout Canada. (Including a Canada Day appearance on Parliament Hill for over 250,000 people) He’s performed in 38 states, and has toured the United Kingdom on a dozen occasions.

“Bruce seems to be concerned with and committed to is “the song”. In the same regard that Lyle Lovett, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and folks like Darrell Scott are. He works at it with discipline, a sense of wonder, and trying to honor the very craft of it. I think his results speak for themselves.”
John Cowan (Doobie Brothers, Newgrass Revival)
